It’s common to fuss over your LinkedIn profile. Just as people spend way too much time tweaking their resumes, many job seekers obsess over their LinkedIn profiles – and this can hurt your job search. Here’s why…
Tip of the day: Turn off your activity broadcasts.
Inside the settings of your LinkedIn account is a “Turn on/off activity broadcasts” option. You should make sure it’s turned off when you are making changes. Otherwise, every time you make a change, everyone (yes, EVERYONE) in your LinkedIn network is getting an update that you made a change and what it is.
Do that enough times and it’s a dead giveaway that you are A) obsessing over your profile, and B) have a lot of time on your hands. It’s better to keep the obsession to yourself.
